Stormy Weather...
Nov. 12th, 2008 12:13 amI LOVE the weather here. Tonight we have flood and power outage warnings due to the wind & rain. Glorious :) Although I was working the other night and Bemoaning the recent on-set of my joint pain and my co-worker kept going "it's the atmospheric pressure changes! That's why people with arthritis and old injuries get so achy in this weather." I'm hoping that's the case and that this isn't yet another flare. After the first of the year when this round of medical bills are paid off I think it's time for another visit to the Rheumatologist, or maybe to find a new one. I know I can take all of my lab results and records to my primary doc and that she'll help me figure it out but then she'll say "OK, I'm not gonna treat this, find a specialist!" So I may as well save myself a visit and hit a specialist. I've been gathering research since my Rheumatologist's PA patted me on the head and said "wasn't reading that brochure about Fibromyalgia like reading a brochure about YOU?" Um, no, and I told her as much and my lab results back up my belief that this is Lupus. Whether it turns out to BE Lupus, it's certainly an auto-immune disorder and to me it seems more likely that my joint pain, fatigue, etc + positive lab results= Lupus rather than = random auto-immune disease plus Fibromylgia. A single diagnosis that covers all of my symptoms seems more likely than multiple diagnoses that each cover certain symptoms. I'm also working on a lovely ovarian cyst, but it seems to be shrinking. I'm not in the mood for another laparoscopy :/
But under the good news pile: we have 3 shows coming up in the next couple of months and they all have awesome aspects so you should come to all of them :)
Friday November 21st we'll be at the Java Jive in Tacoma with Blackbird Orchestra and Dishwasher Safe. I booked this bill and am excited to share it with these bands. Plus it's in the dive-y giant coffee pot!
Saturday December 6th we'll be at the High Dive in Seattle (Fremont). What's cool about this is that I even managed to book this venue, on a weekend no less! And it's the "Happy Hour" show so it starts at 6pm so early folks don't need to be out so late and we can all hang out and go somewhere fun afterwards since things will still be open. I think Katie Kat should come to this :)
Friday January 9th we'll be at the Rendezvous in Seattle (Belltown). I also booked this so I snagged Blackbird Orchestra yet again and Nathan will be playing his stuff between sets (and may make an appearance during ours....yes you should all be curious and come see!)
Plus, Thanksgiving is almost here :) That is the only holiday I make sure Paul and I don't work so that we can go hang with my dad's side of the family and eat ourselves into a stupor. And drink ourselves into a stupor. Good Lord the food is amazing.
See? Much to be excited about, no time for a flare!
